What You Will Be Working On:
This internship will provide in-depth exposure to the REIT profession and an opportunity to learn more about the day-to-day responsibilities of an auditor.
- Assist in executing and reporting on Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance and control testing of internal policies, procedures, and rules that impact the organization’s operations and environment.
- With guidance and supervision from Senior Auditors, perform Tests of Design and Test of Operating Effectiveness, conduct walkthroughs, and request, obtain, and test audit evidence.
- Interact with key stakeholders and external auditors.
- Assist with creating an inventory of the data and reports that Management utilizes within internal control processes.
- Assist with designing new workflows within the audit management system, AuditBoard, to enhance user capabilities.
What You Need to Be Successful:
We are looking for a student who will be a rising Senior during the summer of 2025 pursuing a Bachelor of Science/Business Administration in Accounting or related field with a minimum GPA of 3.2 to join our Internal Audit team.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Critical thinker with the ability to synthesize complex information and conceptualize solutions.
- Ability to foster strong, collaborative relationships and communicate effectively at all levels.
- A team player who displays self-confidence, encourages collaboration.
- Demonstrated integrity and commitment to the highest ethical standards and personal values.
- Self-motivation and initiative to organize and prioritize work.
The hourly compensation for this role is in the range of $21.00 - $24.00. Hourly rate determined by the candidate's skills, experience, knowledge, education, and abilities.
